Aircraft suffered an engine-out shortly after takeoff, and made a safe landing into a nearby fresh-water lake. The water line, which can be seen on close exam, is just below where the wing and fuselage meet. We ran the aircraft just after pulling it out of the water with no defects. This aircraft will at least need to have the carburator pulled and inspected.
Damage includes the lower cowl and wheel pants. The remainder of the aircraft appears to be in good condition. We do not have parts to rebuild this machine. Still, we expect this to be an easy rebuilder. |
